MICHAEL LIGHT, DVM

Dr. Michael Light is no stranger to our city. He lived here for 16 years prior to leaving for upstate NY, but the desire to be back on the west coast & part of Urban Animal brought him back in 2019. He considers Seattle home, despite growing up in the suburbs of Chicago where he got his start in the field in 1995. After working as a technician around the Puget Sound for years, Michael went back to school & graduated from the veterinary program at WSU in 2008. He worked as an emergency veterinarian before transitioning to general practice & is excited to bring his experience to the Urban Animal family!

 
Michael enjoys living on Capitol Hill & when he’s not at work, you’ll find him spending time with his senior Beagle, Murphy, exploring the city & making plans to travel & camp. If you see him out & about, say hello! 

Fun Fact: If you look at the pictures on the photo booth at our Capitol Hill location, you’ll see a picture of Michael & Murphy taken at the original location when Urban Animal opened in 2012!
