As part of Urban Animal’s continued commitment to making veterinary care responsive to our clients’ needs, on Monday May 12, we’re excited to add appointments at Capitol Hill and White Center. Offering appointments will create more opportunities for general wellness visits as well as give those who need a dedicated time slot with shorter wait times a new option to choose. For those who have an unexpected situation, our current walk-in/urgent care model provides care when you need it most. Our Downtown location will remain by appointment only.

With the addition of appointments to our walk-in/urgent care model, our pricing structure is simultaneously changing. This change not only supports an appointment model but also allows Urban Animal to remain competitive and sustainable in the industry’s changing landscape. We were built on the powerful goal of making veterinary care accessible to all the pets in our community. Urban Animal has held prices down, sometimes to half of what our competitors are charging. We will remain committed to accessibility, but without this increase, accessibility will be lost.
Even with our pricing change, Urban Animal will consistently be more accessible/lower priced than most practices offering similar services. However, to compete with BigVet, we need to change. By shifting our price point, we add the long-requested appointment option in ALL locations and bolster the ability to attract and retain veterinary professionals. It’s those veterinary professionals, who are the hearts and minds of Urban Animal’s option-based care, who we think should own their jobs.
