We all worry whether our pets are happy, comfortable, and feel okay. Comfort Animal celebrates the human-animal connection. While Urban Animal strives to provide smart and sensible medical care to the community’s cats and dogs, Comfort Animal is dedicated to offering emotional support for their owners.
When your pet has been diagnosed with a life-limiting condition or is managing a chronic illness, we understand how overwhelming it may feel. Comfort Animal can help you make sense of what’s happening and how to best support your beloved companion.
Comfort Animal has real conversations about grief, starting where owners feel comfortable. It’s not for everyone, but talking about difficult things can make them more manageable.

Meet Mollyrose Dumm

For more than a decade, Mollyrose has dedicated her career to the veterinary industry, offering compassionate support to both staff and clients. Since 2021 she has served as the Client Liaison at Urban Animal, following her role as an ICU coordinator at a referral center. She also worked with Prison Pet Partnership, the first prison-centered dog training program in the U.S. Mollyrose holds certifications in Animal Hospice & Palliative Care, and as a Companion Animal End of Life Doula.
In 2023, she said goodbye to her beloved dog Izzy, her 16 year-old Lab/Shepard mix. The anticipatory grief of losing Izzy became the driving force behind Comfort Animal, a heartfelt project honoring Izzy’s legacy by providing support to others facing grief around pet loss.
“Comfort Animal is my passion where my training and experience merge. There is not one way to live our lives nor is there one path toward death. I want to help you find your contentment when you have to say goodbye.” – Mollyrose

After an Initial Consult, Comfort Animal can provide subsequent conversations and care for those who may want or need additional support, which can be in-person or via Zoom. This can be for new or on-going concerns, creating a Best Day Ever, or as the end nears, euthanasia planning.
Best Day Ever
After an Initial Consult is completed, Comfort Animal can help create a lasting memory to commemorate the shared relationship with your pet. We work with you to identify your pet’s favorite things and guide the experience. A back-up plan can also be built if health parameters unexpectedly change. Best Day Ever pricing is $300.
Euthanasia Planning
When the time comes, Comfort Animal can support owners through the euthanasia process. We can create a special moment – before, during, and after the process – to make you feel comforted. The cost of euthanasia services is dependent on specific location and care of remains choice.
COMFORT ANIMAL PRICING
The pricing structure for Comfort Animal’s Initial Consults and any Follow-up Consults are based on a sliding scale with three different price points though the quality of service does not differ. Head to Learn More to understand how to select the tier that works for you.
